Fiebre, the first and only festival in Spain specialized in the photobook, celebrates ten editions contributing to the dissemination and enhancement of this phenomenon of high cultural value.
This special edition will take place from September 23 to 25 at the Glass Gallery of CentroCentro, an open space of 2,800 square meters in the Palacio de Cibeles in Madrid. An annual meeting point dedicated to creators, students, professionals and new audiences who share a great passion for discovering, creating, producing and collecting photobooks.
The call, aimed at all creators who use the photobook as a means of artistic expression, in a broad sense, or work in its dissemination, is already open and the deadline for registration is June 1, 2022.
Play Fiebre will be the motto of this edition and the dynamics of the game, based on a creative and innovative learning model, will become the common thread. A game is a space for creation, innovation, redefinition and also for learning, but above all it is a break from our normative world, an invented reality that only works within the game itself and which we can only play by accepting and enjoying that reality.
With the aim of focusing our attention on new audiences and encouraging a participatory spirit, this great stage will become a space for pause, temporarily leaving conventions aside in order to experience new relationships with the way of seeing, understanding and enjoying the work of contemporary photographers.
The dates, the new venue and the open calls were unveiled on Sunday April 24 at Palazzo Michiel, along with a BookJockey session, in the framework of the 59th edition of the Venice Biennale. You will find all the information in our Live Auditorium! This activity took place thanks to the collaboration with ECC, organizers of the 6th Biennale of contemporary art “Personal Structures” and the support of Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) through its Program for the Internationalization of Spanish Culture (PICE) in the Mobility modality.
