Colosso

The ‘Colosso’ project was developed in a coastal area in Portugal. On this location, and by the action of nature and human intervention, a rock formation was exposed. In geology, this is called an outcrop, or an outbreak of a rock.

During a period of two years I made regular visits to the location in order to understand how this rock was formed. After this period, I was able to gather a large selection of images with the purpose of building a narrative that would reveal the path to to reach the its location. Along this path I found traces of constructions, ruins and shapes that resembled the rock formation. In the attempt to create a relationship of scale between this things, I returned to the moment I discovered the Colosso.
