Maktak and Gasoline

In 2009, photographer Ellis Doeven meets her husband, Art Oomittuk Jr., in the whaling community of Point Hope, Alaska. Nine years of photography later, she publishes the photobook “Maktak and Gasoline”, which is a photographic story about love, about community and about the Whale.
