"Das Jahr der Eidechse" (The year of the lizard)

The lizard is a cold-blooded animal whose body temperature relies on the temperature of the environment. By basking in the sun or retreating into shady spots it regulates its blood heat. If threatened by a predator, the lizard will shed its still moving tail in order to distract the attacker while the "rest" of the lizard can flee. But lizards can re-grow their tails, although usually only in a shortened form.
„Das Jahr der Eidechse“ is about light and shadow and alterable perceptions. It tells about the in-between and the beyond the obvious.

I took all the images in the book with analogue cameras and I handcrafted the whole book.

"Das Jahr der Eidechse" was one of the 20 finalists for the Photobook Award of Encontros da Imagen 2020.

"Das Jahr der Eidechse" (El año de la lagartija)

La lagartija es un animal de sangre fría cuya temperatura corporal depende de la temperatura ambiental. Regula el calor de su sangre tomando el sol o retirándose a lugares sombreados. Tiene la capacidad de deshacerse de su cola aún en movimiento para distraer a un posible depredador mientras el "resto" de la lagartija huye para salvar su vida. Sin embargo a los lagartos les puede volver a crecer la cola, pero normalmente de forma más corta.

He tomado todas las imágenes de este libro con distintas cámaras analógicas y he confeccionado el libro a mano.
