Telmo Sánchez Ugalde

My name is Telmo Sánchez Ugalde (b. 1998) and I am a photographer born in San Sebastián, Basque Country. Currently living in Madrid and working as an intern at Fundación Mapfre in the department of Art and Culture, in the coordination of photographic exhibitions and their respective catalogues and itinerancies.

In 2018 I finished my studies in Photography at the ID-arte school (Vitoria) and I did my internship with the photographer Oriol Segon Torra in Manresa, in 2019 I did the Master in Documentary and Author Photography at the CFC (Centre of Contemporary Photography of Bilbao) and finally I did the Master in Documentary and Artistic Photography at the TAI University School of Arts by obtaining the TAI Foto VI Scholarship. My work has always been focused on social documentary photography and in this aspect I have made several personal projects, “Estigma” awarded with the “Beca Albarracín” of the Seminar of Photography and Journalism of Albarracín and with the project “Sin Indicios” being a finalist in the TAI Foto VI Grant. I have also taken part in several group exhibitions at the Círculo de Bellas Artes and the Sala Pavilion among others.
