The frozen stars that give title to this project refer to the celestial bodies we observe, without the ability to distinguish which ones are alive and which ones, frozen by the passage of time, have ceased to exist. Similarly, in the artist's portraits, we are left with the light that their gazes emitted at a specific moment. In the words of David Ferrando, Bejarano's work "places us before a spectral, immaterial reality, linked to time, culture and memory. To that intersection between individual existence and the passage of history, between the fleeting and what remains, between life and image."
The photobook consists of 50 black and white photographs, its format is 24 x 24 centimeters, bound in hardcover covered in black cloth, with 68 pages and a print run of 500 copies.
In addition to Bejarano's photographs, the photobook includes the texts "Insects in Amber" and "A plausible autobiography" by the Gijonese writer Ricardo Menéndez Salmón, in which he reflects on the unfathomable mystery of stars and photographs, as well as on the intimate concept of autobiography.
