Balam is an independent contemporary photography magazine based in Buenos Aires, Argentina that shows images of emerging and established artists from Latin America and the rest of the world.

'Mestizx' calls us to meet a new mixture. Understanding ourselves as mixed beings, mestizo of blood, skin, of inspiration allows us to identify ourselves as mixed gender. We want to ask ourselves from the mix, in what way our genre is Mestizx. If we could break the order of the ethnic groups and mix, why can't we break the order of the genders and re-signify ourselves?

This edition seeks to promote the concept of Mestizx and all those who work with it. Raise the miscegenation from the genders and geographies, because we advance to be located in an intermediate point, to be able to be neither man nor woman, that not only the binary exists. Encourage us not to be normed, to choose what our mind and body travel through the path of self-acceptance and evolution.
