I was born a few years ago, more than I would like, in a town near Valencia, exactly in Manises.
Nowadays I live, whenever I can and work allows me, in Moraira. Alicante. “… where, from my vantage point, I contemplate the immensity of the Mediterranean Sea as if it were a solitary metaphor …”, fleeing from pollution, noise and overcrowding.
As for photography, which is what interests us, if I remember correctly, I came to photography chronologically late, back in 88. To tell the truth, I was introduced to photography as an adventure – it attracted and captivated me – and I continue in it for pleasure and amusement, since it continues to fascinate me.
If, as I heard in Madrid last year, at the age of twenty you are an emerging artist, at forty you are a floating artist, I must already be a “submerging” artist. HIGHLIGHTS
The first contest I attended? The truth is that I didn’t know or I couldn’t do anything else, it was the Quart de Poblet contest in 89. If I have to be honest, I can’t complain about the contests. I made friendships that still last… I improved my photographic technique… and subsidized some of the material.
With new concerns and in full evolution… I consider my passage through the photographic contests as finished.
Exhibitions? As for exhibitions, my first exhibition was in the Corral del Pato, a peculiar name for a peculiar place, in Gata, Alicante, in the year 95. I also have good memories of the exhibition of the CAM of Torrent, year 98, AGFOVAL year 89. The exhibitions carried out during 2003 and 2004, on the occasion of the edition of the book “Diario de un Fotógrafo” (Diary of a Photographer). The exhibitions held during 2008 on the occasion of the publication of the book “Silencios y Soledades”. The exhibition “PNT”, included in Valencia Fotográfica 2010. The presentation of the book and exhibition “PNT BLNC” in Manises at the MUMAF museum. And the exhibition that I think has had more impact … “PNT” … in the Cultural Center LA BENEFICENCIA. Valencia. Year 2015.
And of course, in line with the last exhibitions, what I am most proud of so far is the publication of the books “Diario de un Fotógrafo”, “Silencios y Soledades” and “PNT BLNC”, where, in the first two, I was able to combine the efforts of several Casas de Cultura – “the best Casas de Cultura” – according to Rafa Prats, for the realization of the same. In “PNT BLNC”, and in the midst of the crisis, I modified the subsidy system, obtaining one hundred and fifty micro-sponsors.
