The book Propagations presents a fragment of work from the series MachineTime_NatureTime. This project is created in a number of locations across New Zealand. The artist, Mizuho Nishioka questions photography and its role in the act of representation in relation to the tradition of landscape photography. Proposing a durational photographic practice, the artist delves into the minutiae of her work to expose a hidden galaxy of petals, pollen, sand, soil and insects. The boxed work also includes a recovered piece of billboard material exhibited and exposed to the famously severe weather conditions experienced by Wellington city over a period of months.
