Madrid, SpainVisual creator and economist based in Madrid. In my personal projects I am interested in topics related to women and their current construction, their emotions, fears and social conditions, ties, family and cultural heritage. The fragility of memory and its fragmentary nature is very present in my work, as well as exploring the limitations of the photographic medium as a language, and the connection with other visual arts such as drawing, painting or collage.

Search and reflection based on my experience as daughter and mother. It revolves around the mother figure, the construction of motherhood, an approach to their dilemmas.
What is a mother made of? How to understand her? Where to look for her when she is no longer?
Behind a mother lives a latent one that preceded her and before, centuries of women have marked us in a way of understanding motherhood conditioned by the role of being a “good mother”.
Hilo also speaks about memory, its fragility and fragmentary character. I also question the family photography as guardian of memory in its attempt to witness what has been. I feel the surface of photography, like memory, as a fragile space in which we only see the trace of the past, but behind it there is another latent space that I want to reach.
Winner of the third prize of the International Photography Award 2020 in the Fine Art Books category and selected in the FIFV 2020.
One of the copies has been acquired by the MOMA Library in New York for its Special Collection Artist Book.

RENASCENSE is a choral book that combines photography and poetry around the work and life of the poet Edna St. Vincent Millay, one of the most influential women in 20th century poetry, a spokesperson for her generation for gender equality and representative of the New Woman of the 20s.
The book consists of 9 self-portraits by photographers inspired by poems by Millay, and a body of contemporary and intervened archival photographs that visually traverse the life and work of the poet.
My goal is to vindicate and bring to the present a great artist who, like so many creative women, fell into oblivion. I wanted to rediscover it through the gaze of contemporary authors, and put their poetic work in dialogue with the images generated from it. Through the intervention, I have given the archival images a new meaning, drawing inspiration from nature, which was so important in Millay’s work, and her red hair that has been a symbol and guide throughout the project.
The book has been created with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
