The English at home

The English At Home was the first published collection of photographs by the renowned photographer Bill Brandt and was published by B.T Batsford of London in 1936. It is featured in Martin Parr and Gerry Badger's excellent The Photobook; A History Volume 1 where they write: "Brandt enlivens even the more conventional formula of The English At Home with is individualistic vision. His continental upbringing made him both an insider and an outsider, and thus casts a broader eye than usual on the Britain of the 1930s".
