Miguel Ángel Rojas, who in the late 1970s had his studio in downtown Bogotá, exactly on the corner of 24th Street and 4th Street, dedicated himself to recording clandestinely, like a voyeurist, what passed through his window at different times of the day. The result is a series of color images, radiographs of an era that broaden the understanding not only of early processes and strategies within the artist's career, but also of a story of a city that was at that time in full tension with modernity.
The book Esquina rosa takes up the images of that period in a subtle way, with a simple but striking design. Each page is a photograph of a corner and the possibility of an encounter with strangers looking at or passing by each other. Although this is not the best known work of Miguel Angel Rojas, the book gives it all its importance. It is worthwhile to observe it carefully, always letting oneself be carried away by the games of chance that these images provoke.
