The Casa de Campo is a forest in the middle of the city. It is an island full of castaways and tourists. It is a great place to go in search of nothing in particular; to find things you didn't know you were looking for. You might bump into your cousin or His Majesty on a motorbike helping a motorist. It is absolutely horrible and beautiful. It is my favourite place to shoot. It is a park full of wild animals and attractions. It is unpredictable, and that makes me lurch from side to side and gives me headaches and makes me write a story full of crossings-out and corrections. It is a republican park with a hill where they say the souls of Madrid's inhabitants ascend to heaven when they die. It is the perfect place in Madrid to try to tell a hyper-realistic magical story.
