A personal journey through black America. Jacob Holdt became famous in the 1970s for his book and slide show Amerikanske billeder, with which he travelled throughout Denmark. It showed the hidden face of the United States through images taken by someone who explored neighbourhoods and areas that no one else dared to set foot in. Jacob Holdt is the story of a man who lived as a vagabond in the United States, which led him into unique situations and opened up opportunities that he later documented for the world.
