FRACASO BOOKS
In the late 1990s, photographer Alberto García Sáenz was walking through Madrid's Plaza del Ángel when he found a pile of cardboard boxes with dates written on them lying in a construction dumpster. He opened them and found them filled with negatives of ID photos from E. Rodríguez's photography studio, which had just been dismantled. He collected them and managed to take them home. In 2021, Alberto showed Paco Gómez some of the material, and he was fascinated by the volume and quality of these negatives. They covered the period from 1966 to 1983, a crucial time in Spanish history, describing it without judgment, through the faces of the Spanish people. Paco felt that this archive should be made public and offered to publish a book, which ended up being DOCUMENTO NACIONAL.
