Eclipse

Eclipse, a photographic work by Lucía Antebi, unfolds through a series of images captured in Madrid's Retiro Park between 2018 and 2020.

In this work, Antebi revisits a recurring theme that shapes her artistic narrative: the mystery of nature and the cosmos, which—like a labyrinth of mirrors—evokes the light and shadow of a particular stage of life: adolescence, where light and darkness intertwine by chance.

It is an introspective journey in which the artist wanders through the park until she is exhausted, seeking to empty herself and reconnect with her identity. Along the way, she photographs young women, glimpsing in them echoes of past sensations to compose a dialogue between past and present.

Eclipse is an intimate exploration of the fragile transition from adolescence to adulthood: a reflection on the changing nature of time and the void that stretches between one stage of life and the next, on what is inevitably left behind and the identity that emerges as you go through it.
