EYES

EYES is a mini photobook by Sofía Ayarzagoitia that brings together a photographic series of an eye. Almost at a 1:1 scale, the book explores the gaze under different lighting conditions and color temperatures.

As we turn the pages of this publication, we approach the intimate relationship of what it means to look directly into someone’s eye, to get so close that we can look eye to eye, creating a direct physical connection with the publication. Stripped of the context of who the subject is, this record by the artist offers us a performative act of what it means to look into another’s eyes.
