"The mountains are a symbol of Switzerland. To reach any of those idyllic places, you have to cross the Rhône Valley. However, few people know what the valley is really like and what happens there. A highway runs through it, so nobody stops. The industrial landscape, characteristic of the valley, is not at all attractive, at least at first glance. Nevertheless, most of the inhabitants of the area live in these lowlands. I didn't have much money and I wanted to travel, so I decided to embark on a three-month motorcycle trip through this valley (located about 50 km from my home) in search of an exotic lifestyle, something different from what I knew through photos of my country (I was inspired by David Lynch's film, The Straight Story). Through this motorcycle trip through the Rhône Valley, the photographs speak of the American dream, the myth we know thanks to the media and film. Most of the people I photographed had never even been to the United States. They have The feeling of belonging to another culture that 'They don't really know.' Far from Swiss stereotypes, the confusion of symbols and the lifestyle of these people immerse us in a strange atmosphere, a dreamlike reality that doesn't actually exist."
