Published in 1952 by Verve, on the initiative of Tériade, it brings together photographs taken by Henri Cartier-Bresson during the first twenty years of his career. It is a monograph of the best of Henri Cartier-Bresson's work, published by an art publisher, with an original cover by Matisse.
