La Fiesta de la Cruz de Mayo
Rodrigo Villalón Ardisoni
Ch’alla Ediciones
The Feast of the Cross is one of the most widespread and significant celebrations in the Andes. It is a devotion centered on the most significant element of evangelization: the Cross. This book offers a unique perspective on this festival. A corner of the northern Chilean highlands (Socoroma), alongside a town in the Spanish La Mancha (Villanueva de los Infantes), are contrasted in a rich interplay of images, colors, and narratives that showcase the rich and diverse heritage treasured on both sides of the Atlantic. It is an invitation to embark on a round trip between the New and Old Worlds, traversing time and space, through a visual and ever-evolving interpretation of the unfinished process of Christianization.
