Lo oscuro del río

“The Darkness of the River” brings together Cristian Ochoa’s visual research on the water crisis and pollution of the Loa River, in the heart of the Atacama Desert.
Through a direct and critical documentary style, the photobook reveals the resistance of a community defending its territory against corporate power and the greenwashing that seeks to minimize the real impact on the ecosystem.
This project invites us to open a conversation about environmental justice, territorial memory, and the role of photography as a tool to make visible what is often silenced.
