In the past, Madrid's Atocha station was known as Estación del Mediodía (Midday Station) because it was the southernmost station in the city. This is the setting in which David Hornillos carried out his work between 2011 and 2014 during the middle of the day.
Mediodía presents an absorbing orange brick wall bathed in vibrant light that, like a net, irresistibly attracts and traps all living beings.
With orange as the main colour, the work places the viewer in front of this wall and draws them into a suffocating atmosphere, a hypnotic state of mind.
