كفتاجي Kafteji

Kafteji is a compilation of the work produced by Teo Vázquez during his two stays in Tunisia in 2022, in conjunction with one of Jiser's Pasarela residencies.

Teo Vázquez and Jiser collaborated for the first time in 2020, when the photographer participated in the fourth edition of MURAL/LOCAL. We understood then that it would be very interesting to imagine possibilities for Teo to develop a specific research and production residency in Tunisia. Jiser's intuition to bring them together has allowed the birth of this publication.

Teo's work revolves around capturing popular culture in public space: wall tags, frescoes and other naïve graffiti.

All his impressions, human encounters and urban actions, made in Tunis but also in other cities such as Barcelona, Madrid or Naples, are condensed in this publication, which reveals the trace of a very personal vision of a welcoming country despite the difficulties.
