This book is the result of the convergence of two initiatives: an invitation extended to Rita Ponce de León (Lima, 1982) to develop a publishing project, and a residency at Tumbes 204, a center for movement research in Peru. Together, Rita Ponce de León, Joelle Gruenberg, Carola Robles, and Mariana De Los Ríos have developed an unnamed practice, an ongoing study based on knowledge in the fields of dance, movement, and somatic education (a field of study that uses the moving body as the primary site of learning).

una práctica sin nombre is about knowing through doing, guided by the key principle: we exist in a precarious balance, an asymmetrical body, searching for a new gesture, inhabiting forms to observe the subtle changes. This folded paper object is like a sprout from the stem of lived experience; it is another way of thinking about the nature of what has occurred. Through a series of drawings, texts, and photographs, this publication invites the reader to join in the making, not only through sight, but with the whole body.
