In 2010, Ricardo Cases and Natalia Troitiño (N2-NT) launched the independent publishing dissemination project FiestaFiesta.
Maybe I shouldn't have left without saying anything, maybe I should have sat down face to face and listened to what I felt in the silence of a half-lit room. It wasn't an escape, I just needed to find another way to express myself, since words weren't enough to understand what I wanted to tell… In that search I recognized in the photo albums moments that spoke of me, of time and its memory, of what happened.
I decided to look for images of the people and places that have inhabited my life, their circles, their traces… Also the objects, the books, the letters, the dreams, everything that helped me to build a visual diary.
We are our memories… But these are often full of gaps, of erasures, of moments to which we don't want to return.
As I delved deeper, I could see that there were blank spaces that I couldn't decipher, and I chose to use photographs of moments, people and places, foreign to me, but that helped explain that between the real and the imagined there is a place where I can breathe another truth, a visual truth.
This sweet trap opens and plays, creating other lives, other worlds… of days that I never lived, but that I feel speak of me.
