Atlas o libro de los segundos

The Atlas or book of seconds is an anti-catalog. The plates of this Atlas of the seconds are mobile, there is no fixed index: readers are invited to construct and invent their own reading conditions and thus practice a form of assembly or editing.

This book-atlas-encyclopaedia is the prototype of a machine for exploring time, defamiliarizing ourselves with it, defuturizing our anxieties and reinventing the future.collage -the technique and main character of this project- has the particularity of allowing the coexistence of heterogeneous temporalities in the same time and space. The book by artist Alma Sarmiento was the winner of the Grant for independent publishing projects in Plastic Arts of the 45th National Salon of Artists.
