The book La Transmisión del Asalto is a sound script of the radio program of the same name about the live transmission of the assault on the Palace of Justice in 1985, an event that marked the history of Colombia. The interesting thing about this book is that it does not pretend to be a photography book but rather a performative work, which can only be understood if readers begin to interpret it as if they were radio announcers, describing at each moment the taking of the Palace by members of the M-19 guerrillas and then the entrance of the military in tanks of war.
We chose to include this book because, in spite of not being catalogued as a photography book but as an object related to sound art, it does contain a series of visual archives of the taking of the Palace of Justice that are part of the collective imagination of Colombians. The design of the book is surprising because it seeks to create archives or segments of that episode of history. The last of them is a third annex to the Report of the Truth Commission on the assault, examining the role of the media in the events.this is a book that teaches us to de-archive history, to recognize the value of sound in historical recognition and to touch the frontiers of fiction to get closer to the reality that Colombia lived in those times.
