Pétalas

The fanzine called Petals contains 67 images extracted from the Internet through search engines. Many of these images are reminiscent of the classification language of forensic science, only this time they are projectiles that when recovered and photographed take the form of flowers. Using images of projectiles, deflated bullets and texts that refer to a glossary of violence and gun industry/culture, the work suggests a reflection on the fetishism surrounding firearms.

The poetry of the images combines with the violence of the use of weapons to alert about their indiscriminate use.This project was chosen by the jury of Imaginária Festa Do Fotolivro in Brazil as the winner of the Lovely 2021 Award in the Photozine dummy category. It was published by Lovely House Editora.
