Intergalactica is an international programme for research, creation, and editorial production focused on the contemporary photobook.
The project proposes a space for exchange between institutions, artists, and professionals from different countries, with the aim of exploring new ways of narrating, producing, and disseminating photography through the book as a medium.
Throughout the process, four creative teams were formed, bringing together artists, editors, and curators from diverse geographical and cultural contexts. Working collaboratively—through in-person meetings, residencies, and online work—each team developed a collective publication.
These are the four projects resulting from the residencies:
📘 Fear of Mirrors – Author: Alba Zari
📘 Inspiration – Author: Matilde Søes Rasmussen
📘 Radiations of War – Author: Yana Kononova
📘 Hot to build a telescope – Author: Carlos Trancoso
From Fiebre/Bestalde, we developed a microsite for each project, conceived as an extension of the book that expands its reach and allows the content to be explored through new digital formats.
The project benefited from the active participation of Yogurt Editions (Italy), FOTODOK (The Netherlands), XYZ Book (Portugal), Pavac (Portugal), and Iconictheory (Portugal), in collaboration with various European institutions, strengthening an international network of cooperation around the photobook.
It has been a true pleasure to collaborate on this project by designing and developing the website and microsites that give digital life to each book. We are delighted to have contributed to enabling these stories to travel beyond paper, finding new ways of reading and connection. One more step in this intergalactic journey that brings together territories, perspectives, and voices through the photobook.
