Photography, design, and creation of a publication with what is available
Using case studies, we will share our methodology and creative process from an interdisciplinary perspective. We will carry out practical exercises focused on how to construct a visual sequence, generate narrative relationships between images, and make design decisions—both conceptual and formal—working with limited resources.

Aribel González
Graphic designer trained at the Catholic University of Chile, specializing in editorial design and visual identity. Co-founder of the photography publishing house Buen Lugar alongside Alejandro and Cristóbal Olivares, she combines her freelance work with collaborations on photography-related projects. Her designs have been recognized in competitions such as the Latin American Design Awards, Chile Diseño, POY Latam, and PhotoEspaña. She currently collaborates with the Valparaíso International Photography Festival (FIFV) and teaches at the School of Design at Diego Portales University.
Cristóbal Olivares
Photographer and co-founder of the independent publishing house Buen Lugar. He collaborates with international media outlets and organizations such as The New York Times, Le Monde, Bloomberg, and Greenpeace. He is a National Geographic Explorer (2023) and was a Magnum Foundation fellow (2019). His project La Eternidad del Mañana (The Eternity of Tomorrow), on police violence against Mapuche children and youth, won second prize in the World Press Photo competition (2021). He has received recognition from institutions such as World Press Photo, Open Society Foundations, VII Photo, PhotoEspaña, and the Valparaíso International Photography Festival. In 2014, he received the Rodrigo Rojas De Negri Award from the Chilean Ministry of Culture.
