Create your tactile book
A workshop for families at Fiebre Photobook Fest
Of all the senses, touch is undoubtedly the most overlooked, due to the dominance of sight. In this workshop, we liberate touch from its primary function by creating a book inspired by Bruno Munari’s Laboratori Tattili.
Using the fair’s publications as inspiration, the children will browse the tables to select various images that they will then transform into a tactile book. The activity will take place in three steps: first, the selection of images during the visit; then, the creation of a notebook with hand-sewn colored cardboard; and finally, the reinterpretation of the photographs through lines, colors, perspectives, and geometries that translate into textures.
Each participant will create a unique book that can be read with their hands and felt with their imagination. At the end, there will be a small collective exhibition to share the processes, discuss and learn from the common experience.
