UN-IDENTIFIED explores belief in extraterrestrial life and how people construct their own perceptions of reality. Inspired by a personal childhood experience, the project led the author to travel throughout Mexico and the southwestern United States to interview believers after attending the International UFO Congress in Phoenix.
Through accounts of extraterrestrial encounters, abductions, telepathic communication, and conspiracy theories, the photobook investigates the personal and collective mechanisms of belief. The publication brings together portraits of the interviewees, their testimonies, personal materials, archival images, and a visual map that traces the connections between the different narratives and their unique worldviews.
