Self-care and international networks are the focus of the 12th edition

La Casa Encendida and Fiebre Photobook present Fiebre Photobook Fest XII, the only festival in Spain specializing in photobooks. It will take place from September 26 to 28, focusing on self-care and international networks.

The 12th edition of Fiebre Photobook Fest revolves around self-care, understood as a creative force and collective practice necessary for building a healthier and more sustainable publishing ecosystem. With a focus on the potential of international networks—especially the European scene and the Chilean independent scene—the festival invites visitors to discover, learn, and, above all, connect with the photobook community, from those who are just beginning to explore the medium to those who have made it their profession and way of life.

The heart of the festival is the specialized photobook fair, with more than a hundred proposals from publishers, distributors, and self-publishers from Chile, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Argentina, France, Poland, Austria, and Switzerland, who use books as a means of artistic expression and work to promote them.

In addition, Fiebre Photobook Fest offers a full program of activities with round tables, workshops, exhibitions, and presentations. It is a space for exchange and learning where professionals, artists, students, and the general public can find their place.

The meetings will be preceded by an activity at the Reina Sofía Museum on Thursday, September 25, at 6 p.m., in which artist and publisher Jorge Gronemeyer will present a critical and chronological review of what he calls “anomalous publications,” based on a selection of materials preserved in the Gronemeyer-Nyrar collection.
