Before the photobook
Building the content
Starting from the question: how is the content of a book built? — we open up a space for dialogue and work around the elements that shape a photographic project before its editorial materialization: starting points, research, photographic production, and other visual resources.
We will also address the development of thematic threads, narratives, and concepts, as well as the editing and sequencing processes through which a set of images begins to gain structure, rhythm, and meaning, with an eye toward its transformation into a publication.
Photographers, visual artists, and anyone with a photographic project in development who wants to explore how it can be transformed into a photobook. No previous experience in editing or design is required — just bring a set of images and the willingness to test, share, and rethink the project together with the group.

Brenda Moreno
(Mexico City, 1984) is a visual artist and educator. She works with analog photography, collage, and data to explore identity, the body, and power dynamics. She is the author of the photobook *B to B* and develops educational projects related to visual culture and self-representation.
José Luis Cuevas
(Mexico City, 1973) is a photographer and educator. He develops long-term projects that combine documentary photography, research, and staging. He is the author of New Era and Sobre la resistencia de los cuerpos, and the founder of the educational platforms Gimnasio de Arte y Cultura and CAMPO.
